A Good Day 5

I have had a few moments this week where I was truly reminded of what is important.  I often get caught up in my own head; in my own thoughts.  This happens so much that I miss little things around me: a sunset, a smile, or the tiny flowers on the side of the road.

One thing that having children has done for me is this: children see and enjoy the little things.  My little one played with a potato bug for an hour last week. She carried it all the way home from the park. She made a little house for it with leaves and dirt and rocks.  She truly enjoyed that little bug.

Little things: a hug, a kiss, a smile.  These are the things that I am grateful for.  These are the things that I must savor.

When I miss the little things, I miss the many small moments that add up to create my life.  I am grateful for the little things.  I am grateful for all that God has created.
