This is one of my husband’s favorite dishes. Ham tetrazzini is a simple and delicious dish, and a yummy way to use up any leftover ham you have in the house. My little ones ate it up.
Here is the recipe:
8 oz. spaghetti, cooked
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
1 – 1 1/2 cups mushrooms, sliced
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. chicken bouillon
1/2 tsp. oregano
8 oz. ham, cubed
4 cups milk
2 Tbsp. parmesan cheese
Melt butter and sauté onions and mushrooms until soft.
Blend in flour, salt, bouillon, and oregano. Cook over medium heat for about one minute.
Stir in milk. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until mixture begins to thicken.
Put ham and spaghetti into a baking dish. Pour sauce over ham and spaghetti.
Sprinkle with cheese.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes until hot and bubbly.
To be honest, when I made this batch I didn’t have any parmesan cheese, so I cheated and sprinkled with the mild cheddar I had in the fridge. No one knew and it was delish!
Wouldn’t this ham tetrazzini be perfect for a warm and cozy family meal? Serve with some broccoli, a fruit salad, and add a crunch piece of French bread! Yum!
