Homemade Bubble Test 20

Schools out!! Hooray!  Now, the question for moms is, “What can I do to keep my kids occupied?? They get bored so quickly!”  Here are two fun and simple bubble recipes that I tried.  Both work.  Both are easy and use typical household ingredients.

My little ones always love bubbles, and we are constantly running out of bubble solution.  Since these were so simple, I thought to give them a try here.

Here are the two recipes:

Bubbles #1

3 cups water

1/2 c. dish soap (I used Great Value brand)

1/2 c. cornstarch

1 Tbsp. baking powder

Stir together.  Try not to create bubbles.  Let sit for an hour.

Bubbles #2

2 c. water

1/3 c. dish soap

1/4 c. sugar

Mix together.

To be honest, I couldn’t tell the difference.  I did notice that Bubble #1 left a cornstarch silt on the bottom.  I don’t really know what cornstarch and baking powder did to the solution, but it worked!

Both bubbles made lots and lots of bubbles.  My little ones had a blast using them all up!  Plus, they smelled yummy!  My driveway was bubble-filled!

Do you know how hard it is to take a picture of a bubble?  Especially when being chased by a little one?  Well, I did my best!

Several homemade bubbles are available on Pinterest.  You can find some here and here.

If you want a quick and simply activity to occupy your kids, whip up some of these bubbles and send them outside.  Isn’t that where they should be right now??

Happy Summer!!
