Oh, The Places You’ll Go: Teacher Appreciation Printable 25

You have brains in your head.

You have feet in your shoes.

You can steer yourself

any direction you choose.

You’re on your own.  And you know what you know.

And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.

Dr. Seuss’ Oh, the Places You’ll Go!

Oh the Places book text

I am feeling sentimental this week!  My little ones are finishing preschool and we are headed into the summer before Kindergarten.  WOW!  It was just yesterday that they were 4 pounds and helpless.  Now, they are ready to go.  They keep telling me, “Mom, Miss ___ says I am ready for Kindergarten.”  “Mom, do you know that we take a nap in Kindergarten?”  Or, my favorite, “Mom, my brain keeps telling me that I am ready to ride the bus.”

I don’t know where she gets “My brain keeps telling me…”  but I hope her brain keeps telling her good things!!

As a potential high school graduation gift, I bought these books.  I love the message that Dr. Seuss has about life, making your own path, and being successful.  It is a great book for any age, but particularly for those Seniors heading out to see what life is about.

So, I am hoping that every year I can get a teacher to sign these books for my little ones so that on their graduation day we can have a meaningful gift.  They can take it with them on their path forward. I know that is many years off, but it is a fun start!!

In addition to a potential graduation gift for our children, I also want to thank the teachers.  Teachers have a hard job.  They work long hours, get little pay, and spend their time with our most precious commodity: our children.  I feel so grateful to have interacted with three teachers this year that have taken my girls and guided them, taught them, and loved them!  Thank you!!

In honor of our teachers, I composed this silly little poem.  The first two lines are Dr. Seuss (or nearly) and the rest is mine.  I was so pleased with how it turned out, that I thought I would share.

Here is a little printable to give to those teachers that have affected your children’s lives.  If you want, you can right click and save and print for your use:

I framed these and gave them to each of my child’s teachers.

In addition, I made this little tag to attach either to a card or bag. Again, you can right-click, save and print for your own use:

Thank you to all those who serve and help and love our children.  I believe you deserve extra blessings for your service!!

love it 🙂 Dr. Seuss has the most wonderful books for everyone of every age! I am sure the teachers appreciate the gifts as well as the chance to sign the books for the eventual HS Graduation. Kids say and do and think the most amazing things, you just have to remember to listen.

Super Idea. Your brain must have remembered those Dr. Seuss books I read to you when you were small. Now your brain is telling you good things . . . . . like sharing them in your own special way.: (Your precious girls will remember this).

This is adorable! I love your framed printable for the teachers. Thanks so much for sharing it with us :)! What a beautiful, meaningful graduation gift to have all the teachers throughout your children’s education sign the book. I wish I would have done something like that. I already have one about to graduate cosmetology school and the other graduating elementary school. The time really does fly by!

I love this printable! Thanks for sharing! I plan to use it along with a copy of the book for my youngest son’s fourth grade teacher’s end of the year gift! I had already purchased the book for each child to sign for the teacher. They are starting off their dedications with “Oh, the places I will go because of you…..” Along with your printable, I know she will love it! Thanks again for sharing!

Also, I have a sophomore and freshman in high school. I started their “Oh, the Places You will Go,” books when they were in elementary school! I can’t wait to see my son read his book in just two short years!!! I also asked their baseball, cheer and soccer coaches along with their Youth Pastor at church to sign it!! Such a great idea!!

My daughter is in first grade. I just dropped the book off to her teacher last week. I’ve been doing it since her second year of preschool. Luckily she had the same teacher both years. The kindergarten teacher even wrote the name of the school on a drawing of a school on the page she’d wrote on. I’ve asked the teachers to go in order from the front. I was worried that I would forget to do this each year, but I haven’t. I look forward to it.

Absouletly love this idea, I already got the book for my daughter (kinder) to have her teacher sign it and she went with the same theme as Dr. Seuss poems so when I saw your post on Pinterest, I knew I had to have this too. I’m going to print it now!!
