Just for fun this week, I thought I’d post a fun and frugal beauty tip. I had a friend tell me about this, then I did some research. This is all over Pinterest, and very popular. I still wasn’t totally convinced. My hair is slightly coarse, mostly curly, and oft-times frizzy. I use conditioner every day! But, I thought it wasn’t going to cost me anything to try. So…a new beauty adventure!
Here is what you will need:
1 part apple cider vinegar (If you have blond or silver/white hair, use white vinegar)
1 part water
I think you are supposed to use fancy organic vinegar, but since I was experimenting, and feeling highly doubtful that it would work, I just used my plain old off-brand kitchen stuff! I mixed it together in a old soy sauce bottle (don’t worry, I washed it!!) and put it in my shower. After shampooing, pour apple cider vinegar in hair and allow to sit for about 3 minutes or so. No need to use conditioner.
Amazingly, it really did work. I didn’t use conditioner, and I was able to comb through my hair! It was soft and shiny. Frankly, I was surprised!
There were a few things I was worried about – first was that cold shot of water pouring over me! Unless you add warm water to the vinegar in the shower, that simply is unavoidable. Second was the smell. So I tried it on my children. 🙂 Don’t worry, there was no animal testing! I tried it on one, and used conditioner on the other. Even while their hair was still wet, I couldn’t smell the vinegar. No nasty vinegar smell. Hooray!!
So, I use this about one time a week. I still can’t totally give up my conditioner!!!

Good girl! I use mine every time I wash. Although I do use conditioner too, I have been able to use ALOT less of it!!!
Good idea! That will save me some money!!
