O.K. So if you know me at all, you know I am frugal (that’s a nice word for cheap), and so when I saw this, I decided to give it a try. This is a big year for me, so I decided maybe I better start being more aware of my skin. This only takes two ingredients, and both of them have many positive uses.
Sweet Almond Oil
I used a 1 to 1 ratio. I have very dry skin. This worked for me. If you have very oily skin, you may want to try 3 parts Aloe Vera to 1 part Sweet Almond Oil. Since this is an oil, you may not want to use it as frequently if you have oily, breakout skin. I loved it for my dry skin.
I have been using this for several weeks. My face hasn’t broken out, and it feels soft and smooth putting it on. It does take a minute to absorb, but doesn’t leave any residue once absorbed. No stickiness, no smell, no greasiness. Smooth. I think I have noticed a nicer color to my skin and felt some of my dry spots smooth out.
I don’t use it on my eyes, as it leaves an oily residue on my lashes, but I like to use it on my face and neck. It does have a tendency to separate, so you have to shake it up or stir it regularly.
Here are some benefits of the ingredients:
Aloe Vera: moisturizes skin, treats acne, fights aging, lessens stretch marks, treats burns. It is also supposed to decrease sun and age spots (I haven’t used it long enough for that – but am hoping!)
Sweet Almond Oil: moisturizes dry skin, rich in vitamin E, helps with dark circles, helps with stretch marks, improves texture of skin, fights aging.
Although I cannot guarantee all the above benefits are true, this worked well for me. A Pinteresting success! I am almost out of this batch, so up for another! Hope you all have a beautiful day!!
P.S. I got my aloe vera at Walmart, and my Sweet Almond Oil at Hobby Lobby. The stuff I bought at Hobby Lobby cost me about $4 with my 40% off coupon, but now that I know I like it, I will probably buy a larger size through amazon. I found some here. Although it is more total, it really is less per ounce, by a lot! Enjoy!!
