Recently, I have found myself a little obsessed with succulents. They are these beautiful little creatures:
I bought two varieties of clay drop and another called jade cache. You can buy succulents nearly anywhere, from Walmart (at the indoor plant area) to Lowe’s or any nursery. The cost starts about $3-4 for a small plant or you can buy a more developed plant with several small succulents for a little bit more.
I have never really had indoor plants, and have never taken the time to take care of some, but have wanted to try. So, with a lot of help from my sweetheart, we came up with some sweet, succulent ideas (don’t you just love that word?).
We did these succulents three ways. Here is one of my favorite!
The Succulent Log
My hubby found this old log and hollowed it out for me.
We then filled it with dirt and planted our beautiful succulents.
The Succulent Pot
Second, I found a beautiful pot on clearance, so I tried the simplified look. This one was for my mom. We filled it with dirt, planted the succulents, and added some nice colored rocks. I only used three succulents here as I liked the simplified look. It shows off each individual succulent.
The Succulent Pail
Finally, I found a bigger pail for the remainder of my succulents. We filled this with dirt and planted the rest of the succulents in this pail. We used colored rocks on top to give it a finished look!
These would make fun gifts for Mother’s Day, as it is nearly upon us. Not very expensive and beautiful ideas for the women that you care about!
Happy Mother’s Day season!
I shared this with Thrifty Thursday.
