February is over??? What happened?! I don’t know where this month went, but it sure seemed to zoom by. I decided to post several of the more popular posts in review for this month, in no particular order. I must admit I am still figuring out what kinds of posts people are interested in, so if you have preferences on what you like to read about, let me know!
#1: 10 Frugal (and Last Minute) Ideas for Your Sweetie for Valentine’s Day! I was really surprised at the popularity of this one, as it was kind of an after-thought! But I am so glad that so many thought of their loved ones on Valentine’s Day! It is always wonderful to celebrate our love for one another! Here I posted 10 ideas to show your love – they can be used nearly any time of year!
#2: Marriage: This one stemmed from a lesson I gave in my parent’s ward. It was a wonderful experience, and so good to be reminded of how important marriage is, and how we can fight for it! Here I posted four basic ideas for looking at marriage and making it last!
#3 Valentine’s Ombre Pedestals: This is a frugal and fun craft that can easily be adapted for Easter, day-to-day home décor, and other holidays! I must admit I didn’t get this right on my first try, but it was wonderful to stretch my creative muscles. I am working on some spring/Easter ideas, so stay tuned!
#4 Busy Bodies: This one cam from a presentation I gave on stress management this month. It was one of my favorite events from this month! Thank you to the Willard Stake for inviting me! Here are a few ideas to help you slow down and prioritize to find greater peace and resilience.
#5 Reading, Cuddling, and Zooming: Oxytocin, anyone? Here was a short piece on how reading and snuggling with little ones increases oxytocin in our bodies and helps combat stress. Plus, a quick plug for the Zoomer books written by Ned Young!
#6 Western Chicken: This truly is a go-to simple meal at our house that requires only four ingredients! I had almost decided not to do recipes on here, but maybe an occasional one is a good idea! Plus, don’t we all need some new ideas occasionally? This one is yummy and super simple.
So, I don’t really know if the stats were all correct this month! I haven’t quite figured it all out, so I decided to include a few of my favorites just for fun!
Gingerbread Feelings Man: This one is such a fun and simple way to talk to kids about their feelings. If you have tried it, you will see that you learn a lot about what your child is feeling without pushing, pressuring, or seeking. The feelings will naturally express themselves. In such a complicated world, it is nice to find a few simple things to help our kids understand and express their emotions!
Serenity Now! This gives four quick tips for managing anger, which is another source of stress in our lives. It is so important to realize how anger affects us and the people around us. Learning to manage anger is an important skill.
Borax Crystals: Awesome-sauce science experiment: This one was so much fun and truly simple! All you really need is Borax and pipe cleaners! My little ones had so much fun seeing this come about. It is worth searching Walmart for Borax!!
Faith vs. Fear: We live in such a scary world, sometimes it is hard to remember that we must use faith, not fear, to face it head-on. This was my favorite Sunday Message of the month.
I appreciate all of you for supporting me in this new adventure! I am trying to make this site a resource for women – whether through recipes, well-being, kids, crafts, relationship tips, or faith. Please feel free to leave me some feedback on what areas you prefer to read about. I always like your opinions, and remember, your emails will not be published! Have a great weekend!! 🙂
