You’re One in a Minion! Despicable Me Minions

Minion

Happy Valentine’s Week!  I thought it would be fun to start out this week with something fun for the kids.  This isn’t a new idea, and I got this from off Pinterest.  There are many sites that will help you, and I have them listed below.  I liked the look of a handmade minion, so I didn’t use the printable one.

Here are the supplies needed:

Twinkies (Yea!)

Blue paper or felt

Grey paper or aluminum foil

black paper

googly eyes

black permanent marker

Cut black paper into thin strips for the goggle strap.  Cut grey paper/aluminum foil into circles slightly larger than the plastic eyes.  Cut blue paper for overalls.

#1  Put on blue paper and mark for overalls (if desired).  Cut and put on with tape.  I added a pocket and G for Gru.

#2 Put on thin strip of black paper and glue on aluminum foil goggles.

#3 Add googly eyes and face!

#4 Finalize with cute saying!  “You’re one in a MINION Valentine!”  (Download available here: Minions doc)

This can be done so many ways!  See these sites for more ideas and a printable download if you like!

thebensonstreet.com:  This one doesn’t have overalls for the Minions.  Just a cute heart with saying.  Looks like a little less work.

rko-ideas-galore.com:  This one has a whole Minion printable, in different styles.  You don’t have to do anything but cut and paste it on.  Scroll down and you will see the download.

examiner.com:  This one has a very cute printable saying.  It is a heart square, so less cutting.  Cuter than mine, but looks bigger.  No Minion printable.

My little one said, “Mommy, next time can we just buy some to eat!” I would set aside a few for the little ones to snack on! The kids will soon eat them and they will be gone!

Stay tuned this week for some fun Valentine events: frugal Valentine ideas for your honey, some of my favorite books on marriage, and even a science project!

Happy Valentine-ing!!
